History Happy Hour Episode 181: Women’s Auxiliary Air Force
Guest: Dr. Sarah-Louise Miller
Sunday, January 21, 2024
This week on History Happy Hour: The courageous pilots of the Royal Air Force who faced the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain, affectionately known as ‘the Few’, are rightly hailed as heroes. But often forgotten are the members of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, who worked in the background to collect and disseminate vital intelligence – intelligence that resulted in Allied victory.
This week, Chris and Rick talk with historian Sarah-Louise Miller, who tells that story in her new book The Women Behind the Few.
Sunday at 4PM on History Happy Hour, where history is always on tap.
Dr. Sarah-Louise Miller is an experienced historian, author and media consultant, specializing in WWII history. She is a lecturer at the Defense Studies Department, King’s College London, and a visiting scholar in the Faculty of History, University of Oxford.
