History Happy Hour

This Week on History Happy Hour: Three years ago Chris and Rick welcomed Dutch historian (and our friend) Sebastiaan Vonk to HHH to talk about a project of remembrance undertaken at the American Netherlands Cemetery in Margraten. Now that project has led to a remarkable book, Faces of Margraten, just published in English.

Sebastiaan and his co-authors, Jori Videc, and Ari-Jan Van Hees, will join us to talk about the book, and their efforts to make sure that thousands of individual GIs who fought in WWII are not forgotten.

Sebastiaan Vonk is the chairman of the Fields of Honor Foundation, works for the Dutch War Graves Foundation, and is a tour manager with Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours.

Jori Videc is a history teacher and a guide at the Netherlands American Cemetery. Ari-Jan Van Hees is a Dutch veteran and a tour guide at the Netherlands American Cemetery.
